Hourly Rate: $37.06/hr
Position Summary
Reporting to the Carpentry and Paint Supervisor, the Carpenter will need medium to high level of expertise to perform skilled carpentry. Assists with the maintenance, repair, and renovation of all carpentry aspects of university buildings. Maintains a safe and workable environment for all building users. Candidates should possess excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Focus on high quality work and efficiency is required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
* This position requires the following background checks: motor vehicle driver’s license check.
* This position requires drug screening and physical.
Required Education and Experience
* Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a carpenter, or full journey status as a carpenter in a union or five years applicable work experience.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities
*Must have a valid Driver’s License.
*Ability to travel between campus work sites.
*Ability to be a team player and work towards common goals in a timely and constructive manner.
*Capable of prioritizing urgent projects and working in a fast-paced and challenging work environment.
*Capacity to work independently without constant supervision.
